hey hey. :-) I think she ended up in the asylum because she was having visions period. I mean, in "those days" anything remotely satanic/supernatural was looked on with fear and those individuals were either persecuted ( in earlier days like the Salem Witch Trials) or put in mental hospitals. Now whether or not Alice saw it coming doesn't matter because she was probably too young to know if what she saw was real and secondly, what was she to do? Run away? And go where? So that's my thoughts. As for her ability, yes her vision is limited and subjective since it is based on other's decisions. The more they change their mind or the more uncertain the situation, the weaker her ability, which makes sense. :-D
