"Rowling set a publishing record by selling 8.3 million copies of Deathly Hallows in 24 hours starting Friday at midnight, according to her U.S. publisher, Scholastic. She set the previous record with her sixth book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, in 2005 when 6.9 million copies sold in one day, Scholastic says."
