I saw Eclipse and was a bit disappointed...again. The writers seem to try so hard to get the lines tossed somewhere in there in the rush for the action scenes so that instead of a well developed story about romance being challenged, you get clips strung together so we can have a fight! In terms of following the story, sadly the first remains in my opinion the best. The quality did lack, but the character were more true. These last two are all about the money. Throwing "Twi Saga" in front of something while the iron is still hot!
I also find myself liking Stewart's perfomance less and less. I know I am probably in the lion's den, but I must be true to myself even if I am alone. I found her stiff, mechanical and there was no verbal scene that made me feel a connection to the passion of the Bella in the books. Bella' character as I read her, is almost blindly, painstakingly, madly in love with Edward. Yet, everytime Stewart is with him, she comes accross dominating and in complete control. Even her romatic lines are deadpan in delivery. I understand some of it is not her fault as the screenwriters wrote nastiness into what once was a character who seemed to always put other's needs before her own, but sadly, those nasty lines are the ones Stewart does best! I feel she is more so playing what may be her personal character instead of Bella's. I think it is possible that all the digging into her personal life has changed her openess to play the role, but whatever the reason, I see no Bella in the movie. All I see is Stewart. Meanwhile, though I am less critical of Rob, his facial expressions made him look like he was always on the edge of crying! Okay did the director and screenwriter even look at the story? Edward is strong and in control not whimpy and afraid of Bella. Of the three main characters, props go to Lautner for best performance. Of course the focus will be the other two but it is so unfair as he really does the best job of maintianing the integrity of the book's Jacob. He and all the supporting cast are on target but Stewart is hands down the worse.
There are some scenes that really annoyed me to no end...the parking lot when Stewart goes off about Edward lying to get her to take the trip to her mom? Those of us who read the books know she was falling apart after learning about Victoria and Edward soothes her. And though wanting Edward not to leave her out in the future, she does not go off on him as portrayed in the movie. It's the change of her personality I disliked and the cowardice response from Edward. Then there was the reference to the birthday party by Bella to Alice where Stewart gives a geat perormance in showing she could be nasty about the recollection. I mean who are they turning Bella into? Though there are many more, the last I will mention takes place in the Edward/Victoria fight scene. Like New moon, somehow the Vampire who reads minds is reduced to not knowing the moves of his opponents and thus the grab him while 'Bella' come to the rescue with her what? Bleeding arm trick! Since I read a while back that Meye intentionally keeps Bella weak and always in need of rescuing UNTIL the last book, I feel Summit owes her an apology. The scene was not necessary and in my opinion takes away from who the characters are supposed to be.
I am fearful about Breaking Dawn as I don't think the producers really care about more than making another blockbuster which it will be because we either want to hope it gets better or are willing to see it through just because it is the finale, but in terms of taking a great story and turning it into screne junk? Summit has shown how to get it done and will continue to do so all the way to the bank. As for Stewart? Unless someone actually gets through to her that she is supposed to be acting, and the problem really isn't that she is actually out of her depth as an actress, I see another poor performance that will be critique by those who can see the forest through from the trees, and state honestly that we have been given more bad acting. Will that stop success? Of course not because it will be embraced by the young base who come to see the 'handsome' Rob and Taylor and the other fans who either want to hope for better or want to support Meyer's books being made into movies. (I think there will be more to follow) but truth is, these movies realy take away from the books instead of enhace them. I really am a fan and that's why I must speak against the junk passing as The Twilight movie Series.

Eclispe is number one in money made in one weekend. Avatar: The Last Airbender is second. The kid who plays Jaasper has to be rolling some serious money. He played Jasper in Eclispe and Sokka in Last Airbender. They both opened on the same weekend and are number 1 and 2 in the most money made. He is rich
