Chapter 28 of Nessie's Story

I didn't sleep at all that night. Jake told Carslisle about what happened with the twins, and Carslisle said it was too soon to tell what they really were. I thought to myself for a long time. Aidan had fallen asleep right after Jake crashed. I felt bad for Jacob; he had been up with the twins all day. Kenna was still wide awake, staring at me with huge blue eyes. It was like she was trying to tell me something. I just wasn't sure what that was. She put her arms out toward me, so I cuddled her close to my chest. She breathed in quietly and I smiled. Kenna would be asleep in a few minutes. I walked into the nursery, where Aidan was sleeping peacefully. I gently set Kenna in her crib, where she continually stared up at me. I went over to Aidan and kissed the top of his head. When I got back to Kenna, her little eyes were shut. I kissed the top of her head too, and then went back to our room. jake was snoring rythmically and I was still thinking. Where had I seen that waterfall before? Then it hit me. Jesse Darrel. But he was gone..

**** The next morning, the twins were both wide awake. I took them into the bathroom and started a bubble bath. When they got in, squeals erupted and they laughed. I grinned and playfully splashed them with warm water. Aidan clapped his hands and looked up at the ceiling. Kenna looked straight at me and I realized that their eyes had changed to a dark shade of brown. And they looked really pale. I started panicking and called Alice over. How would I know if they got sick?
