The guy's voice was mesmerizing.
"Sure." He motioned towards an empty space next to me.
"May I sit?"
"Of course." I scooted over, making sure he had enough room.
"Is it a habit of yours to sit on people's cars wearing expensive dresses, stiletto heels, and stargaze?" I laughed, thinking how silly I must have looked.
"No, it's not. I'm not a big one on parties. My friend forced me to wear this." His eyebrows raised, probably wondering who I hang out with.
"Forced you? Did she threaten you with bodily harm?"
"No, but she threatened to put it on me herself. Anyone who knows her, knows that she does not make empty threats." He chuckled and scooted closer to me.
"You look really sexy in that dress. I know that might be a little out of line but I felt I had to say it." I blushed furiously, feeling the blood rush to my face.
"Great. Now I embarrased you. Sorry about that. You're just so...beautiful."
"Thank you. I'm not use to people telling me that. This dress is rather flamboyant compared to my clothes."
"Well, I'm sorry I embarassed you. To make up for it, I'll escort you into the party. I promise not to leave you the entire night." I bit my bottom lip, thinking about the rumors that would be started at school."
"I accept your offer." He slid off the car quickly. I took the hand he held out to me and as ladylike as I could, I slid off too.
I slid my arm through the crook of his elbow and walked inside with him. I realized I didn't know his name. The DJ just finished playing The All-American Rejects song Kiss Yourself Goodbye and began to play Muse's Time Is Running Out.
"Would you like to dance?" His beautiful smile dazed me for a second, making me have to regain my composure.
"S-Sure," I stuttered. He grabbed my hand and walked me to the center of the room where everyone else was dancing. The beat of the song was catchy and easy to dance to. The guy whose name I still didn't know put his mouth near my ear.
"By the way, my name is Phillip." It was as if he'd read my mind.
"I'm Bridget." He looked into my eyes and I flet like this night was possibly the best ever. Everyone else seemed to dissapear. The song finally ended and everyone clapped, reminding me that they didn't actually dissapear.
Taking me by the hand, Phillip led me into a dark corner. He leaned in slowly, putting his lips on mine. I kissed him back and I didn't want to stop. I was addictive, almost like I couldn't stop-not that I wanted to. The logical part of me began to take over, telling me that this was a bad idea. I had no idea who he was or even if he was from here. Sure, I knew his name but was that enough?
The other half of me told me to forget logic and live in the moment. I was making out with a very hot guy who was sweet and funny. Screw logic. Making out with him was too much fun.
