I don't wanna be left open

Hey guys. Today my boyfriend told me that he'd be there for me no matter what, no matter what people say, no matter what happens. And that scared me. Badly. 'Cause I'm so used to people leaving me. Uncle left, Daddy left........Dylan left. So for a long time I've kept my heart protected, I use my anger and lonelyness like a Rose uses its thorns to protect itself. People expect me to just let them in. I told my boyfriend today, "Promise me if I cave in and break and leave myself open that I won't be makin' a mistake."
