I have to admit, I am a stubborn person. So Hayley finally gave in to make me happy, because she knew I would be miserable if she refused and wanted to stay in that house.
We left that night. I told her to go pack her clothes, but to not let her father see what she was doing. She said that wasn't a problem, since he was working the night shift tonight. So I went to my house. This would be hard. I walked in, and all my family was in the living room. Right when I walked into the room, they knew something was going on. They could see the nervous look on my face. I knew they would tell me it's fine, and if she makes me happy then I can go, but I was still nervous, for some reason.
"What's going on?!" Marie asked, always the impatient one.
I told them the whole story, and their mouths dropped.
"Well," Loren started, "I guess if it's okay with your mom, we can go."
"Woah, hold on there," I said. "I never said we."
Everyone looked confused. I explained to them that if suddenly our whole family moves and Hayley disappears, that's going to look pretty suspicious. But if Hayley and I go missing, it isn't as obvious. I did tell them that later on, they could move where we were, but just not right now. They seemed to be okay with the concept, so I went upstairs to my room to pack.
I almost couldn't bear to leave my family. We're so close, and I'm really going to miss them. But I'm doing this for Hayley. And, I'll see my family in a few years when they move. Then we can all be together. Including Hayley.
I packed probably a little too much, but you can never be too sure. I mean, we don't even know where we're going. I made sure to take a lot of money with me, because, again, you can never be too sure. Plus, we're not just going to hide out in the woods near our neighborhood. We're going far away. We're going on a plane somewhere.
I heard the doorbell ring and knew that was Hayley. I grabbed my bags and ran superfast down the stairs to the front door.
"Pack much?" Hayley asked, making fun of my overpacking.
"Yes, actually. How about you?" I asked. She showed me her suitcase.
"I can fit a lot in a suitcase, you know!" she said. We both started laughing.
"So...where are we headed?" she asked.
