The Twilight Saga

Okay, we are talking about Twilight and Harry Potter and which one's better on a Facebook note about making peace over this whole topic. Of course, I picked Harry Potter. They're annoyed of my now.

This is what happened. DISCLAIMER: Sorry about the Twilight bashing. I really really am sorry. And sorry about chatspeak from my friends. I don't use chatspeak. And I talk about you guys a lot. :D

The whole point of this blog post is to show how much I miss the old TTS. :D

ME:
twilight is fail. period. fineee. bd is fail. happy? she based it on shakespeare. it's like she forgot what the charactes. character development error.

hp. it means many things
friendship is important.
fight for the greater good
sacrifice. i can goooooo on for days.

ME:
haha. i'm jsut the weird one. :D

VICKY:
ok, this note is about makin peace, sopleaze stop talkin crap bout twilight, ok cathrine?

MADISON: (OOC: I turned her from a hater to a lover, so she should just back off. :D)
u r catherine. but really, for me the books went 3, 4, 2, 1. just thought u should kno that.

ME:
awwww...it's fun. :D I love talking about it. but you guys don't argue right. you never bring up evidence.when you have debates with people on forums (OOC: that's you!) talking to people you know in real life just isn't the same. :/

ME:
:O! it so went. 1, 3, 2, 4!! but eclipse and new moon almost tie. twilihgt was really good because it shows bella as a normal relatable human.

MADISON:
i really found twilight itself boring

VICKY:
really, cuz i thought the order was 1 3 2 4

ME:
go vicky!! :D
i thought twilight showed the beginning of a love story. i's nice. new. ya know?
it all just gets old after that. the love story at least. :/
i just like beginnings. :D

SHELLEY:
omggg TOTALLY!!! WHOOO!!! but actually u kno, i kinda lyk hp better....(OOC: she's talking about the note itself)

SHELLEY:
and u ppl r still arguing so its not rele much of a peace thing....

SIDHARTH:
twilight is so... eugghhh.... i dont know, it didnt hold my interest... i mean, theres like 200 pages of a sappy love story! i stopped at like page 215 or something, right after edward became all amazing in the middle of the forest....

I, for one, say that HP is AMAZING and twilight, i dont really know much about it, but the part that i read, i didnt think it was all that good...

the one thing i REALLY dont understand is how ALL the english teachers at this school are OBSESSED with twilight but none of them have even read HP and they dont understand how much BETTER hp is ....

ME:
^^ exactly. but the whole sappy love story was the POINT.

SHELLEY:
(OOC: talking to Sidharth) u read twilight o.O

SHELLEY:
yea i kno seriously it was the point, and btw UR A GUY!! if u lyked the romance ya got problems

SIDHARTH:
good. i am problem-free. i dont like the romance.....unlike matthew du and ezekiel yu...they both read it......and loved it

ME:
i love romance novels, but twilight was over the top. not well writtten. the thing ruined everything. and the only well written character was jacob. he was actually had real teenage angst.

VICKY:
well, i thought the story line was intersting!

MADISON:
wowww u kno harris read all the books 2
i dont think it was sposed 2 be 4 guys tho lol
and i thought u were COMPLETELY team edward and hated jacob, catherine?

MADISON:
^^ hmm...

A BUNCH OF POSTS ABOUT WHICH HARRIS.

ME:
o no. i think edward is a creepy pedophile(sp?) and jacob is amazing now. :D avery was right. :DDD

ME:
lol. drew's reading it. and I was the one that got haris to read it. back in my delusional days. I would not reccomend it to anyone anymore. it's one of the most horribly written books I've ever read in my entire life.
I hate how people that started reading it like 3 or 4 months ago always go, "OMIGOD! i luv readin cuz i read TWILIGHT! its teh most amazin book in teh world." My failed attempt at idiotic chatspeak.

It's like, go shopping or something. Go do something you know how to do. HOLY CRAPPPPP it's so annoying.

^^ I know that had nothing to do with anything but I just had to say. I've been complaining about this since Feb. of 2008. The month of the book fair. *shiver* Ask Myra, I'm NOT one of them.

A BUNCH OF POSTS ABOUT WHEN THE BOOK FAIR IS.

MADISON:
geez catherine the were in love with it until breaking dawn came out, and really it's not that bad of a book

MADISON:
btw wat were u talking about by 'errors in the series' in ur first post?

ME:
it was horrible. did you know she was trying to incorporate a midnight summer's dream? into a teenage romance novel. she slaughtered shakspeare. E-E-E-EPIC FAIL. There were no literary elements and horible character develpoment. it's like after a few years she forgot everything about her characters. i think she read/ wrote a few to many fanfics. *headdesk*

ME:
o. there are comma errors and word errors and so on. just grammatical errors. but that's the editor's fault. :D

MADISON:
wow wat makes u think that? :/

MADISON:
well, i didn't catch many of those

ME: (This one's dedicated to you guys. :D)
Actually, I liked BD at first. I thought I did. then i got onto my forums, which i had neglected for the 3 days after it came out, to avoid spoilers. (and they closed the forums a month to the release becasue SM asked to eliminate possible spoilers because part of it, like midnight sun (welllll that didn't happen yet), got leaked into the internet.I got on and I saw complaint after complaint about how horrible it was. those people were called skeptics or Team Skeptic. (That's what I am now, at the time I was a Team Hmmm) There's also a Team Breaking Dawn. I gradually started moving over to the Skeptic side. And then the Skeptics got banned for speaking their mind/ being rude. ;) (The Team BD's kept reporting them so the admin just went no mercy on us and banned the skeptics except one, that was banned later. But I hated her so it was all good. :DD)

I hope you enjoyed my dorkkkkkkifyingness. :DD I wanna talk about my forum more but none of you would understand. :D

ME:
what are you refering to when you say what makes you think that?

ME:
o there was A LOTTTT of mistakes. you can google all the errors. it's cold hard evidence...

MADISON:
the shakespeare thing

and that whole 'skeptic' think makes NO sense. that's what other people think, and u shoulsn't have listened 2 it. it's just DUMB

MADISON:
fine, there were errors, but that was the editors fault. lets see u write a 500 pg book and see how many errors u have

ME:
o my gosh. the skeptics did not change my mind about it. i just didn't see it at first. the original skeptics were actually people i was scared of. i'm only freinds with the 2nd generation of them. :/ hmph. i shouldn't have ever said anything about my forum. :/

MATTHEW:
you know, this actually caused another fight lol

ME: (replying to Madison.)
holy crap madison. i even SAID it was the editor's fault. it's by no means her fault. but i hate the way she just constantly over uses wors and phrases and things. some of her writing just DOES NOT flow. writing should sound like it flows. if the sentences are choppy it shows aggrivation or anger or something of that sort. for example speak/ Laurie halse anderson. writing should be like classic poetry. that means no rhyming. and if i wrote a 500 page novel, it may have a million mistakes in it. but it's editor quality. no offense to her editor. she didn't catch everything. but the point is, i shouldn't have said anyting about errors in her writing. there's no need getting fired up about it. by all means everyone in our grade can write a book. if the editor is good there won't be mistakes. (but some people's books may take longer to publish...lol)

MADISON:
yup although they did change ur mind because of them. u thought it was an amazing series until they made u see it DIFFERENTLY

VICKY:
well ,who cares about the grammerical erors?? its the content of the story tat really counts!

MADISON:
im not getting 'fired up' about anything, i'm just saying.

MADISON:
that's what i'm saying, vicky

MATTHEW:
Go Harry Potter!!!!!!!!!!!!

VICKY:
ya...it is becoming another fight.........becuz of CATHRINE!!!!!!!!
so...lets change the subject to somthin more peacefuller...lik....um...any ideas?

VICKY:
.......btw...hp sould just go suicide

MADISON:
heeey, no blaming anybody except the editor kay

ME:
i know right? (I'm talking about Matthew's post, btw) i can't help but argue about twilight. i just want to know why thins epidemic happened over a book with no depth. why can't a meaningful book get popular for once? (I'm excluding HP right now) like Speak/ Laurie Halse Anderson, Catalyst/ LHA, Just Listen/ Sarah Dessen, The Watcher/ James Howe??

Just saying. >>I would saying, I would say my favorite book (Candy/ kevin Brooks) but there really isn't a menaing. :D

MADISON:
nah hp is good

VICKY:
:P......haha...ok..changin the subject :P

ME:
the one before the last one. but i agree with the other one too. :D

A BUNCH OF RANDOM POSTS ABOUT THEIR PACE PROJECT. I IGNORED THEM. THIS IS THEIR FAILED ATTEMPT AT TRYING TO GET ME TO STOP TALKING.

ME:
YAY! I'M THE SORCE OF THE PROBLEM! :DDDDD
Yeah. they openned my mind about it. but SM rights knock off books. I know other authors do that but they pick and choose. this is insanity,. why pick a book to use for idea when the book has nothing to do with the plot line. BD had no ation whatsoever. It was a waste of paper and ink. she should of just ended it as a trilogy. anyway. trilogy sounds cooler than series. :D

The whole time reading it I just could not stop thinking about how much it was like a fanfic. Seriously. Did none else noticed the change in Emmett's personality. that's because that's fanfic emmett. real emmett was polite and helpful. they just make him like that in fanfics because he has the normal build of a jock and the that's what jocks are like. you onlyfind this one type of emmett personality in BD.

ME:
can you tell me the depth to Twilight because for some reason i didn't pick it up. please. tell teh the meaning. give me one moral it teaches. otherwise it just corrupts the minds of young people with modern crap. didn't i say that already? just because it got people to read doesn't mean it's good.
I read when reading was dorky...xDDDDD

MADISON:
nah i don't think he was every really polite and helpful. i think he always kinda acted like that
but also, bd did continue where the series left off i honestly don't understand where ur coming from.

MADISON:
not all books teach morals catherine :)

VICKY:
sigh..now were back 2 the fight...THANKS A LOTT CATHRINE!!!!!!!!

VICKY:
yeah, its just 4 entertainment...lik TV,...and everyone <3s TV!

MADISON:
HEY! we're not fighting. we're peacefully debating. :)

VICKY:
ya, but its getting WAY out of hand! (OOC: She obviously was not in that pro-choice/ pro-life debate. :D)

MADISON:
nah i dont think so

ME:
whatever. i'm going to church now. :D
bye. :DD

MADISON:
later

ME:
o I hate tv.
I agree with madison. this is not fighting. there's a fine line. when you "debate" on forums for as long as I have it's not fighting. If you don't start being racist and predjudice it's not really a fight. and if you started discriminating about how smart someone is. :D

ME:
i have a few minutes. :D

MADISON:
haha

MADISON:
ur right about that, there is a very distinct line between fighting and 'debating'

ME:
and yeah. madison. that's what I'm saying. books without a trace of a moral, something to pick up, to grow up witth. i call that modern crap. but really, that's really open. every book SHOULD teach you SOMETHING. even the slightest thing. Twiligth may have some small trace of moral, but I don't see MEANING

ME:
lol. yeah. this is "debating". I hate saying it though. it makes me feel like such a dorkkkk. i already am. :DDD

MADISON:
the meaning is 'entertainment' lol

ME:
now I'm leaving. See ya at 10... or later. depends. :D

MADISON:
haha k

ME:
lol. madison. so much for leaving. but the meaning is really entertainment. lots of books are for entertainment. it's just that most of them give you something other than entertainment.

sorry about typos. I'm rushing. :D bye for real.

MADISON:
okay. GOOD BYE. and i get ur point there not much more then entertainment, althought I can think of one moral haha

AFTER I GOT BACK FROM CHURCH.

ME:
yeah. stay away from pale sparkly people named edward or you may get knocked up at 18...xD

VICKY:
.................she wuz 19 ..jkjk
but, twilight dores teach morals

MADISON:
actually i was gonna say stay away from vampires because werewolves are way better... yeah... haha

ME:
I don't care how old she was. but i really think she was 18. ;)
go madison. :D

ME:
This is the moral of Twilight.
Make sure when you get married, that you go into it with the idea that it's for life. And when you go into any kind of negotiation, make sure you have all the facts, be ready to make concessions and have a back-up plan.
Say's someone on google. that's the lamest way to show there is a moral. because that's a stupid moral. As you know, this is NOT the moral of the SERIES, becasue bella got married, at 18, and had a baby in BREAKING DAWN. The compromise this person speaks of takes up 2 of the thousand sum odd pages in the series. good job great moral.

Sorry, I found that on google and I just had to say how stupid it was. :D

ME: (OOC: I actually sent this as a bunch of differnet posts be cause there wasn't enough space to put it in one post.)
and really, what type of moral is be married for life? When you marry someone, yes, it's best to stay together forever. (I learned why in church last week. ;) I had to say sorry. I won't bring religion into this.) But who does? it's unrealistic. young people get sucked into twilight like it will happen to them. this is why it's horrible that twilight got stupid people to read. no offense to anyone. :D there are real life horror stories about how 15 year olds go and meet some random dude named edward. he knocks her up, he abandons her, has baby, names her renesmee. boom. that's like a horror story come to life. that's what twilight does to idiots. it's persuasive in a horrible way. people these days get absorbed way too much and decide it's a good idea to try to become the main character. and yes. true story. but i can't remember if she was 14 or 15.

One of the many reasons I don't like Twilight. it teaches wrong morals and sends bad messages to people that just don't get it.

ME:
o. right i didn't fully explain the point of the post. sorry. the point is that if you're in an abusive relationship it's not a sin (though the bible says otherwise, sorry about the religion) to get a divorce. no one expects you to continue in a relationship that hurts you. there are circumstances to every situation. THE REASON I'M PRO-CHOICE. but i don't know if anyone wants to talk about that. it's one of my favorite topics to discuss if anyone wants to. :D

ME:
"nah i don't think he was every really polite and helpful. i think he always kinda acted like that
but also, bd did continue where the series left off i honestly don't understand where ur coming from."

Sorry, i completely skipped over this. emmett was a polite person back then. go look yourself. that's the way they were raised back just after WW I. it's the fanfics and the audience's thought that a guy with a jock's build has to be a jerk. it's not true. just a stereotype. this is why stereotypes are annoying. they are hardly ever true. emmett was polite. he is actually a very static character. no one would really be obsessed with him if no one started that whole different persona for him. and again. it started on fanfiction.net. check it out yourself. I can find one that really shows a difference for you if you want. but SM writes fanfics. i have a feeling she wrote the different character personalities on FF to blend in, but when writing BD, she forgot to switch back.

ME:
AHHH! :O typical catherine. long list of long posts. ;)

VICKY:
omg! u must have a LOT of time to waste it 2 type this!
...u know that i wuz 2 lz 2 read the hole thina rite?

ME:
how much did you read because i can sum it up for you. all of it is very important to the "debate". (I'd call it an arguement though. debate sounds funny. too formal.)

And yes. I do. And today, i've been to the eye doctor, went out for lunch, walmart, willow bend mall, filled out my 8th grade thingamabob, worked on my eye drawing, made sure i have everything to make kolaches tomorrow, water my carnation, feed my turtle, go to circut city, go to petco...i think i deserve some time to waste on a pointless topic, now don't you? :)

but really everything i typed up is good "debate" material/ evidence. it'd take like 5 minutes to read. :/ please?

and it took around 4 or 5 minutes to type all of this. it's not like i spent 5 hours on it. you make typing sound like it's hard. and really if I have something I really want to say, it just comes out. it's not like I set aside time to type it out. :/

ME:
okay, for truth, the reason I'm typing so much is because my forum that i used to spend my time arguing on, moved to NING, which i hate. It's too much like facbook. There's no point in trying to start talking to people if no one's going to reply, they're all wrapped up in the apps. This is exactly what I told the mods when they announced the switch a few months ago. I told them no one would have the TIME to talk to each other anymore. at leaast not in a discussion. o no, we're all talking on WALLS now. that's how stupid NING is. I hate it. hatehatehatehatehate.

so the point is I need somewhere else to argue about stuff I care about since my forum switched to a site (NING) that I hate. :D

(from now on I'm going to write what the point of my post is if it's long okay?)

ME:
o and madison, i don't know if I ever explained the shakespeare thing. It's a complete fact that she based it on a midnight summer's dream. she came out saying that. It's just the truth. I just wish she hadn't used a book that really had nothing to do with the rest of the series.

ME:
OH AND SHE WAS 18! 150% She "turned" 19 a few weeks after she turned. And you call edward 17 so I'm calling Bella 18. happy?

THAT WAS TIRING.
I'm going to be so mad it this doesn't get approved. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

I don't hate Twilight. I just don't like it so much anymore. I guess you could say I got over it. BD kind of showed me that it wasn't that amazing of a series. But, for real, it's just BD I don't like. I'm okay with the rest of the series. I actually really like Twilight. But the only reason I have a TTS account this time around is because I've had an account here (or there?) since December of 2007. The fact that I was freakishly obsessed with it and knew every part of the series will always be a part of me, so I'm not going to say I never ever love it. At one point, yes, I was a die hard fan. And then BD came out and I didn't like it. I even read it again because I didn't believe I actually didn't like a work of SM. I used to think she was just amazing and a writing prodijy(sp?). I found out that she's not. She just some lady, who had an idea. And a bunch of teenage girls liked it. Then the movie came around and they all thought the guys acting in it were hot, so they decided to be crazy fangirls. The fangirls, BD, and a few other things ruined twilight for me. And I wish it didn't.

And just because I don't find a mediocrely written book amazing and a piece of brilliant literature, doesn't mean there's something wrong with me. At least I don't think so. I just think I have a different opinion.

By the way, are you from the old TTS?
