I updated this. i hope you like it!!!
This is the part where Edward comes over to Charlie’s house, unexpectedly, to watch the game with him. Charlie is confused that Edward isn’t with Bella, but he doesn’t think much of it. Find out how Charlie feels.
I quickly pulled out a bag of popcorn and shoved it in the microwave. I hit the ‘popcorn’ button with the already pre-set time and hit ‘start’. Then, I took a beer from the fridge. I noticed that I was running low on my supply on beer. I need to remind Bella to get me some more.
At first, I didn’t understand why she would want to move in with me, but I’m happy she did. It’s better than eggs-n-bacon every day. I started to imagine pleasant hallucinations of Bella, Renee, and I living together somewhere in Canada . . . .
The doorbell ringing interrupted my hallucinations. I was surprised that anyone would come knocking on my door at this time. Everyone should be working.
Before answering the door, I took out my now warm popcorn- who knows how long it’s been sitting in the microwave- and poured it into a bowl.
I speed-walked to the door and opened it. I was shocked and confused when I realized it was Edward. There was a sort of hostile expression on his face that I couldn’t understand.
“Hello chief Swan. I’m sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if I could watch the game with you. Bella is working and my family went out. I decided that I could spend some time with you.” Edward said when I didn’t say anything.
His voice was lifeless and I didn’t understand why. “Sure, come in.” I answered a little late. He smiled, but it didn’t look right. I didn’t waste much time thinking about that though. The game was on and I was missing it.
“Go ahead and sit if you like.” I muttered absently while marching to the kitchen to grab my popcorn and my can of beer from the kitchen counter. Then I dashed into the living room and settled myself into the sofa.
When I was hungry again, I decided to get myself some cold pizza. I got two extra slices and an extra plate for Edward.
“’Thought you might like some cold pizza.” I offered.
“No thanks, chief Swan.” He muttered absently.
Just as I was settling my self into the sofa, I boomed with excitement. Sonics were up by 15 points!
Before I knew it Bella came into the door.
“Dad? Edward?” Bella called out loud.
“In here.” I answered her more loudly.
“Hey.” Bella muttered. Her face seemed upset. That was unusual. She was always cheerful with Edward around.
“Hey, Bella. We just had cold pizza. I think it’s still on the table.” I answered.
“Okay.” She said absently. She stood there until Edward said, “I’ll be right behind you,”
It always annoyed me when he was with her. Bell’s wasn’t my little girl anymore . . . . Before this thought could bring tears to my eyes, I glued my eyes to the game today.
After a few minutes of looking into a game, a brilliant flash of light blinded me for a moment. I turned to see Bella with a camera in her hands and a smile on her face, but it didn’t look right.
“What are you doing, Bella?” I complained.
“Oh, come on. You know Mom will be calling soon to ask if I’m using my presents. I have to get to work before she can get her feelings hurt.” She said lightly while coming over to sit on the floor in front of the sofa where I was laying down.
“Why are you taking pictures of me, though?” I still replied icily.
“Because you’re so handsome. And because, since you bought the camera, you’re obligated to be one of my subjects.” She replied trying to keep a smile on her face.
I mumbled something unintelligible trying to focus on the game again. Just then, Bella asked Edward for a picture of us together and threw the camera towards him. I sighed as she knelt beside me. I did my best to smile and Edward asked Bella to smile and the camera flashed.
Then, trying to get the perspective of the camera off of me, I offered to take a picture of both of them. They stood together and I reminded Bella to smile and took the picture.
Getting annoyed- I was missing probably the best game ever- I suggested, “Let me take one of you kids,”
Edward tossed me the camera, and I quickly took one of them reminding Bella again to smile.
“Enough pictures for tonight,” I muttered then. I shoved the camera into the crevice of the sofa cushions and rolled over it. “You don’t have to use the whole roll now.”
I drew my attention to the game, while Edward and Bella sat back down. When Bella sat down against the sofa, I thought I noticed her hands shaking. I was going to ask her if she was fine, but just then the Sonics managed to score a three-pointer and my attention drifted to the game again.
Not soon after did Edward announce, “I’d better get home.”
“See ya.” I said my eyes not straying one inch off the game. I noticed Bella get up and follow Edward out of the door. I was getting hungry again, therefore I managed to get off the couch and fix myself a snack. I saw that Bella hadn’t come back in, so I went out to investigate. I saw her standing in the middle of the rain and asked her, “Bella, what are you doing?”
“Nothing.” She replied trudging back into the house.
The next day I went to work earlier. Harry had called me, and we both made plans to go fishing the next day.
I remembered that I had to go work, so I called Harry and asked him if it was OK if we went a little later than usual. He agreed and I managed to get home a little earlier.
I noticed a note from Bella stating, Going for a walk with Edward, up the path. Back soon, B.
Harry came by a little later and told me he couldn’t go fishing because Sue didn’t want him home late.
“Well, can ya at least stay for dinner? We just have to wait until Bella comes back. She went for a walk and I’m expecting she’ll be home soon.” I asked Harry.
“Alright, can I borrow your phone and tell Sue that I’m staying for dinner?”
“Uh, yea, here you go.”
It was six o’ clock and Bella still hadn’t arrived. I called the Cullen’s place and a machine picked up stating that this number was no longer available. I tried the hospital where Dr. Carlisle worked- turns out he got a job in L.A.
I started to panic. Could it be that Bella left me already? No phone call, no warning . . . no good-bye? I was instantly furious at Edward. He probably took her away from me! He can’t do- but I realized that Bella just turned 18. She could run away with him if she wanted with no interference from me.
Where’s my Bella?
