NEW MOON movie news: Aro casting confirmed!

Michael Sheen (Underworld, Frost/Nixon) has been confirmed as Aro, leader of the Volturi, for New Moon. The film's director, Chris Weitz confirmed the casting: "Michael's role is so important because he's the head of all vampires. Aro is, on the surface, a very gracious and friendly vampire, but beneath that he is a tremendous threat."

Oh gosh..I thought someone older; at least looking; the way he was described in the book as older looking... Oh... I guess

Its great, but its too bad the studios felt compelled to fully cast this movie with most of the actors being 30 or under. I would have like to see the Volturi be older and mature. It would bring a bit more depth to the experience that I got from reading the books. It seems like the studios are totally going after the under 30 demographic when they could be going after the over 30 demographic as well by adding one or two more mature actors. I would think it would add to the visual of the movie and give those younger talents currently casted a bit more depth than in Twilight. I can't tell you how many parents and singles over 30 enjoyed the books but were a bit disappointed with the movie because they felt it left them out. But this is just an opinion. I am certainly ooking forward to what Christpher Weitz can do.

OMG - ok for those of you who do not know who Michael Sheen, he does not play a vampire in the Underworld films he plays a lycan named Lucian (to those that have not seen the films that is a werewolf) and he has been in all 3 Underworld films. He has also played Tony Blair - the British prime minister in the the movie the The Queen, as well as the films Frost/Nixon and Timeline. For god sake people learn to research, try the internet movie database.... it really isn't that hard.
And he will be an exceptional addition to the film and cast, maybe he can give a lot of pointers to Kristen Stewart (mistake) some one better do something about her, it is only going to get more demanding as the films go on and she doesn't have the talent to pull it off. She doesn't know how to become the character, to surrender herself for the sake of the film.
Watch ALL of her stuff, with the sound off, it is ALL the same.

That will be a indeffinetly hard role to play. but im sure Michael can pull it off. I am really excited about watching the movie "New Moon" its going to be the greatest, i did cry durning the part when Edward leaves Bella though. It'll be sad to watch to, maybe even worse. :( But it only draws me in closer!!
