Chapter 1

Ugh! Paul imprinted on Mandie four weeks ago, and they couldn’t be happier. I’m happy for them and all, but I just can’t ignore this empty I have feeling inside of me. I’m starting to get really lonely.

Leah and I are the only ones who haven’t imprinted on someone yet. Sam has Emily, Quil has Claire, Embry has Rachel, Jacob has Nikki, Jared has Kim, and now Paul imprinted on Mandie. I’m starting to get depressed, and if I’m depressed then Leah has to be miserable.

I got up off the bed, and jumped out the window. I needed to go run for a while. Running has always calmed me down in the past. I phased and started running in the forest.

I ran for about an hour in no particular direction before I started running toward Emily’s house. The pack is having a meeting, and Emily is cooking us lunch. Let me tell you Emily is an excellent cook.

When I got there I phased and went in. I saw Emily in the kitchen cooking a werewolf pack sized meal, and the pack sitting at the table joking and laughing loudly. I walked over and sat down beside Leah.

“Hey guys! What are you laughing about?” I asked.

“Were talking about bloodsuckers we’ve fought and destroyed in the past.” Jared said with a big smile on his face.

“Cool! You’ve got to let me join in.” I said with a smile of my own. Two seconds after I said that Emily started bringing out plate after plate after plate of hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and pizza. Then she brought out several two liter drinks for us to have.

Everyone ate it all in about twenty-five minutes, and after we were done Emily started to clear the table off. I thought I’d help out so I grabbed some plates and brought them to the sink for Emily to wash. Once I was done I went back to the table so we could start the meeting. I wonder what it’s about.

Luck has always been against me, and probably always will be. My life was good once in the past, but then everything went wrong in my life. Right now I’m living in an alley in Port Angeles, Washington, and all I have is the clothes on my back. I remember when I had a house, money and most importantly…a family.

I miss my parents so much, but there is nothing I can do to bring them back. My family was barely making ends meet when my parents got really sick. They couldn’t go to work so we didn’t have any money to pay the bills with. The bank then took away our house, and put us on the streets. I could barely find any food for them, and they had no medicine to take for their illness. My parents died after being on the streets for three weeks.

Those events happened three years ago, and I’ve quickly learned how to survive. I learned the art of picking pockets to get money to buy the stuff I can’t steal. I’ve learned ways to stay warm enough at night. I have also learned how to close and protect my heart from other people before it gets broken again.

Let me introduce myself. Hi! My name is Terra Nicole Thorn, and I am sixteen years-old. Did I mention before that I hate my life?

Chapter 2

When I sat down everybody immediately went quiet. The pack sat waiting quietly wanting to know what this was about. Sam stood up to officially begin the meeting.

“This meeting is being held because we have a bloodsucker running on the loose around our territory.” Sam said. Every werewolf growled and Emily gasped. There hadn’t been any activity lately in La Push at all.

“I’ve caught his scent several times while out on patrol. Both times I’ve caught it in a different location. He seems to be observing and watching our defenses. I want everyone to be on guard while on patrol from now on, and stay in groups of two or more.” Sam finished. Everyone nodded and agreed with him.

“No filthy bloodsucker is getting past our defenses!” Paul said while Jared, Quil, and Embry smiled. The rest of us just laughed at them.

I stood up along with everyone else. Leah and I said our good-byes to everybody before running out the door and into the woods. It was a fairly short trip to get to our house, and we were both too caught up in our own thoughts to notice each others. Once we got home we went our own separate ways. I went to my room to take a nap and she went to the living room to watch TV.

I grabbed my old and abused MP3 player off my desk, and I set it on my favorite playlist. I then walked to my bed and sat down on it. I sat down with my back against the wall and my feet hanging off the end of the bed.

I just sat there listening getting lost in the music until I fell asleep. I then started to have a strange dream. It was one of the strangest dreams I have ever had, and I don’t know what it means at all.

I’m walking across the street and down the sidewalk when I “accidently” bumped into a stranger. I immediately apologized to him, and went back to walking again. I do this several more times and each time I do it to a different person on a different street.

I learned not to feel guilty about it a long time ago. I most likely need the money more than they do anyway. They have homes to live in and I don’t. They have more than ten dollars, and I don’t. They are donating to a homeless charity and they don’t even know it.

I walked for about five more minutes before I turned into an alley. I walked over to my bed, a cardboard box and a thin blanket, and sat down on the hard surface. I then wrapped the blanket around my shoulders and leaned against the wall.

I needed to move to a nearby town again. I made a rule for myself to never stay in a town for more than three weeks. I made that important rule after people started recognizing me for the one who stole their money out of their pockets and started calling the police on me. Let me tell you that being chased by the police is not fun at all.

I sat there thinking for an hour or so before I stood up and grabbed my blanket off the ground. I walked out of the alley and turned left. I walked and walked and walked some more. I walked until I was out of Port Angeles and kept on walking still.

Chapter 3

Blue. Silver. Black. So many cars have passed by me, and are passing by me now. I’ve been walking for who knows how long by some road that I don’t know the name of.

It’s starting to get dark and I’m getting really tired. I decided to go into the forest to sleep for the night. I turned too my right and walked into the forest. I walked for five minutes until I found a good spot to. It was a spot that had protection from the rain that was most likely to come tonight. I laid down and was fast asleep as soon as my head hit the ground.

I opened my eyes to see that I am standing on top of a cliff. Ahead of me is a lot of icy water and behind me is a forest. I decided to go into the forest because jumping over a cliff right now didn’t sound fun.

I started walking towards the forest, but then suddenly I heard a twig snap and a weird growl. I ran like my life depended on ii, and for some reason I felt like it actually did. I looked back and saw a saw a sandy colored following me.

For some reason I wasn’t afraid of it at all. He felt like very close friend actually. After a minute of starring I think it actually kind of smiled at me. This wolf was so strange.

I had slowed down while watching him when I saw a blur slam hard into the wolf. The wolf slid almost ten feet across the ground. The vampire was walking towards the wolf when it happened everything went black. I couldn’t hear a thing and… WAIT! I heard a twig snap.

------------------------------------------------------------------End Of Dream--------------------------------------------------------

I opened my eyes and saw that I was in the forest by La Push. I took several steps toward La Push but a too sweet of a smell invaded my nose. There was a filthy bloodsucker nearby.

I started running as fast as I could possibly go I ran for minutes and the whole time the scent was getting stronger. I saw a figure standing by the cliffs, but she looked pretty human to me.

The closer I got the more beautiful she became. She has long jet black hair that goes well with her icy blue eyes and pale skin. She looks to be around the age of sixteen. I couldn’t stop looking at her.

I almost forgot about the bloodsucker. Almost being the key word. I heard a twig snap nearby and I immediately growled. Apparently the girl heard me because she started running towards the woods.

I knew I should’ve gone after the bloodsucker, but instead I went after the mysterious girl. Something draws me to her that I can’t explain. That I don’t understand.

I start running a safe distance behind her so she doesn’t notice me right away. She’s running so fast. She is obviously scared out of her mind and I’m probably only going to scare her further.

She looks behind her to see if anyone is chasing her, and she spots me following her. She doesn’t seem to be afraid of me at all. Actually she seems almost glad to see me in a way. I couldn’t help but to send a wolfish smile her way.

She started slowing down when out of nowhere the vampire I had been searching for slammed into me from the side. I slid across the ground and came out at a stop by an old looking tree. The male vampire was starting to run toward me again when it happened.

Everything went black. I couldn’t hear a thing for what felt like hours. I then heard my name being called in the distance. It was getting closer and closer when…

------------------------------------------------------------End Of Dream---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up to Leah calling my name, and telling me it was time to patrol. I stood up and grabbed my MP3 and returned it to the desk. I walked with Leah while thinking about the strange dream I just had.

I immediately stood up and looked around. SNAP! Another twig snapped behind me. I looked everywhere and in all directions, but I just couldn’t see through the darkness of the night.

I then heard the most evil laugh that I had ever heard in my entire life. It sounded like it was coming from everywhere at once. I didn’t want to wait any longer. I bolted. I could tell he was way faster than me though.

I was running as fast as I could, but the laughing wouldn’t stop. It sounded so close as if it was right by ear. It sounded like one of those evil scientist laughs from cartoons on TV.

I was getting so tired and I was starting to slow down when I was jerked backwards by something. I slid across the hard forest floor until I hit a tree trunk. I lifted my head and looked up at the man responsible, but he didn’t look at all human.

His skin was deathly pale like he had no blood running through his veins. He had these creepy blood red eyes that were staring at me. He had dirty blonde hair that reached his shoulders. He was wearing ripped faded jeans and a black T-shirt that had “Blood” written on it. He had this evil smile that only a monster could pull off. I could tell he was dangerous.

He walked slowly toward me while I tried to scoot back only to be stopped by the tree trunk. He reached where I was and grabbed me by the neck. He then lifted me up to where I was dangling a foot off the ground.

“Hey little one, what’s your name?” The man said. Are you kidding me? He said it like we were talking about the weather. I kept my mouth tightly shut. He really didn’t like that at all.

He growled and threw me like I weighed nothing. I flew through the air until I slammed into another tree. My back and shoulders were really starting to hurt now.

He looked really angry now. One second he was ten feet away and the next second he was standing right in front of me. He lifted his foot and slammed it down on my arm so hard.

I heard a sickening crack and then felt a searing pain. He stood over me with that evil smile of his when he again picked me up by my neck, but this time he wasn’t gentle. He was going to strangle me to death. I could see it in his eyes.

My world was starting to go black, and he wouldn’t let go of me. I tried to struggle but it was no use. He was too strong, and I was too weak. The last thing I saw before I went unconscious was the man’s horror filled face.
