Dear Cynthia,
"The Rose" is simply a "Twilight Saga" discussion referral program. It is open to everyone. And it was started by a group of four friends, who enjoyed debating Saga questions. By automatically sending out invitations to each other, when new discussions were posted, the system insured that we would have super Saga discussions. ("The Rose" now has over 600 members.)
And yes, Vampara, aka Tara, aka Ginger head is a delightful person. There have been so many nights, when I was preparing to go to sleep, and decided to see what was happening at the Saga discussions first. Then I would invariably find one of Tara's delightful new responses. They are always so fascinating, that rather than sleeping, an hour later I would find myself still trying to adequately counterpoint some brilliant thoughts of hers. And as Bella would say "She/He is just as beautiful behind the face, Jessica !" Your friend, Doc B
Ps. Get Tara to introduce you to her and my good friend Gemma, another brilliant poster. Gemma. Aka "Sneaky Cat" Gemma is English, and the British have the most delightful way of mixing brilliant or ironic thoughts into what sound like off hand remarks. (My grandfather was from England. And it is such a part of their culture, that I am not certain that they are even aware that they do it.) Gemma's ability to "sneak" brilliant thoughts into debates is how she got the nick name "Sneaky Cat." And like Edward, Gemma is "Just as beautiful behind the face, as well.") lol DB aka "The Reading Bear"
Dear Nalisha,
Thank you for your kind note. Since "The Rose" is blessed to have members from a half dozen countries. And since I am personally "spelling handycapped' The Rose has had standing philosophy that "what you say" means every thing. How you say it is irrelevant, Your friend, Doc B
fyi Thomas Jefferson told John Adams that George Washington's spelling, was so terrible that some times his letters were almost imposable to read." Adams asked "How do you feel about those letters?' Jefferson replied "I treasure them!"
Dear Sasha,
The Rose sends invitations to new Saga Members. In an attempt to reach out to Saga members who joined before our "Welcoming Program" started an attempt was made to "Welcome Members" who "were not all ready" Roses but had joined the web site some time in the past. Your extra "Welcome," was provably because there was a "glitch" in the system. The other possibility is that since you are such a delightful person the "system" couldn't help it's self, and wanted you to know that you are doubly cared for. Sorry for the error, Yours Doc B
Thank you VERY MUCH for the message. It will help us adjust the system.
Dear Nalisha, I deleted my bio because it gave us more space on our home page for Rose information. I am a retired Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, I use to teach literature and philosopy. I live in Scottsdale Arizona, about 4 miles south of where Stephanie Meyers lives. My wife "Honey" and I have three Boston Terriers. My gardner was horrified yesterday to learn that I have started feeding the rabbits in my gardens. He just keeps saying "Cassa de loco" which I think means "The Good Doctor's home." "Honey" just called and told me that she gave a talk at the UN yesterday (to the UN's staff not their general assembly) PR magazine said that "Honey' was the most requested PR speaker in America last year. I love to read and had read thousands of books prior to reading "Twilight" It is the only book (other than the scriptures) that I have ever read twice in my life. I am now on my fifth reading. Trust me it is a work of pure genius.(Most American literary critics, and even Stephanie have no idea what she has acomplished.) Steph said that she was ashamed of the writing errors she made in "Twilight.' I wrote her saying that now that she is approaching 100 million books sold, we have gone WAY past the point of worrying about our "writting" errors. As she might remember, I use to tell all of my students, that I was born legally blind. And I didn't have my vision corrected until I was 13. I still use to get A+s in literature but my professors literaly went NUTS over my spelling! One noticed that I had misspelled the word "of" and my OWN NAME on a thesis. Yours. Doc Aka "The Reading Bear " ( http://www.thetwilightsaga.com/profiles/blogs/how-did-i-get-the-nickname-the )
Dear Meadow,
That is about the sweetest sentiment I have ever heard.
You are going to find lots of new friends just like me among the Roses,
Your sincerely, Doc B
PS My gardener told me my garden is infested with rabbits. I know I said "But fortunately I love bunnies"
