She could hardly believe it. They were parents. Actual parents. Sure, they are young. So what? They aren't incapable of parenting their daughter. She conceived her and delivered her all on her own. Now she was ready to take her home and be a family, all together.

She gently takes his hand and holds it, exhaling. She was happy that they were finally talking. The silence killed her. "What are you sorry for?" Her voice was very, very gentle.

I smiled and lead him to my cafe.
