Hi there, if you read my story called Familiar Strangers then I’d like to let you know that the next chapter is ready. If you haven’t read it then I welcome to give it a try. No harm in looking, right? LOL…
Hi Aarati! Yes, the Pot Luck dinner was another success at my school. All the parents and students had a wonderful time. Yes, Thanksgiving is celebrated on the last Thursday of November. I had today at my daughter's school a Parent/Student Thanksgiving Lunch sponsored by one of the donors. It was nice to spend time with my daughter, her teachers and classmates. However, it was a little heartbreaking since this might be the last year they would be together if the Archdiocese decides to close the school after December 4 when we get the final verdict. I know in my gut they will be doing it since the Archdiocese only wants their money. I will be spending Thanksgiving with my Mom early in the day, and towards the evening with my In-Laws. So I would have a total of two meals on this day but off on Friday to recuperate. Happy Thanksgiving my friend.
Okay! Aarati I will update you when I get more information about the school! My Friday was extremely busy since I had my parent Pot Luck Dinner event. Then over the weekend I just rested and read some of my stories to catch up. Happy Thanksgiving and hope you are doing well my friend? Thank you for the support!
Hi Aarati! Thank you so much for your Awesome words of Wisdom! I Thank you so much my friend. I will keep you updated with my daughter's school status.
Yes, Aarati! I agree with your thoughts as well. However, in New York our school education are run by Religious Leaders for the Private Sector and Politicians for the Public Sector. Whichever way we go our childs future will always be challenged in some sort of way. All I have left in me is faith and hope!
Yes, I agree Aarati! The church is actually being mean to their parishoners as well as Albany and the Politicians. They are not helping the private schools at all. They feel the parents should be responsible for their own kids if they choose to place them in private school. Now if we would place them in Public School then they would try to help. It's all about politics always and about who has the larger pocket full of money to pay for our kids education. It has never been for the well being of the child.
Hi Aarati! Actually the Archdiocece is the Main Leader of all the Private Catholic Schools in New York! They handle the money for these schools. Now since the Church has been in the public eye for so long with many legal battles they decided to take away the schools that our kids are taught at to raise the money to pay for their legal problems. This decision of the new Cardinal who took over the Archdiocese office is a big mistake since it follows the same rules of the Political Leaders in Albany. We the minority schools left in the small boroughs are the ones targeted. Now if they take my daughter in another school she would need to travel 45 minutes out of her school district zone just because the Roman Catholic Church of New York said they will not be supporting us anymore. However, they have money to come up and pay for their own private affairs when necessary. I'm sorry I'm a religious person but when it comes to my daughter's future education they just make me angry.
Hello Aarati! Thanks for understanding my dilemma and stress! Yes, my school workload is extreme. I just began today with my senior student's college applications. So far today I can say we sent out at least 200 in total and that was only 13 students out of the 157 seniors we still have left. Yes, I am also still struggling with the dilemma of my daughter's school as well. However, I can't search for another school since the Archdiocese forbid them from accepting any new transfer students until March 2011. This means when the registration process begins my daughter would be placed on a waiting list. They will first choose the students who were on the list first and then see if there would be room for the transfer students of the closing schools. Do you think this sounds fair at all? No! So now I'm in the process of writing a letter to the Archdiocese for their negligence.
Hi Aarati! Sorry, I was unable to be on last week and over the weekend. My internet at home was not working and I was extremely frustrated with so many problems regarding my daughter's school closing. I hope we can speak this week while I'm at work? Have an Awesome Twilight Monday my friend. Hugs from The Bear!
