Nodding her head at Jefferson, Peyton took everything he said seriously. The worry he was probably feeling was probably worse that what he was conveying it to be.
"I'll be careful. Don't worry too much for me, okay? I want you to be able to sleep tonight." Smiling a bit at that, she didn't shy away from him and let him kiss her, kissing back a bit.
Making sure she had everything with her, Peyton headed for the door, turning around to look at Jefferson again.
"Goodnight. And make sure you actually get some rest, okay?" That was really all she wanted from him. For him to sleep and not to worry all that much. It was a given that she would text, no, call him once she got back home; maybe she should even use the house phone to prove her point.
Frowning a bit, Peyton really didn't know how to put the counter of 'If I stay until morning I'll die' into a proper sentence. She really wasn't in the mood to have to explain herself towards Jefferson, nor anything else she said in that past for that matter. It would just take too long and get Jefferson restless about his own well being.
"I'd love to stay but I can't. I have work to do tomorrow." Which necessarily wasn't a lie. She definitely needed to start looking for employment again to actually help support the girls at home. That and she probably was going to have a rude awakening once she got home and the whole mess that'll be presented for her to clean up.
"Thank you for everything tonight, really." She continued, starting to get up and smiled down at Jefferson. The hospitality he showed was definitely appreciated by her along with everything else for the night.
