Thomas:-I bite my lip.- There really isn't any other way for her to grow up Macy. The rodeo life doesn't let you have time to smell the roses. You compete, you find a place to spend the night, you're up again the next morning and on your way to another rodeo. As for the recording company, it's up to you. You meet lots of people that could help you out at rodeos, experienced singers and players.
Bent:Do you want me to take you inside and clean you up?
Thomas:Because. Rodeo's changed. There's sponsors, big prize money now. Besides, an old friend asked if I could join his roping team, I couldn't turn him down. So I entered for every category. Steer Roping, Sheep Roping,Team Roping, Bronc, Bull, Barrel.
Thomas:-I shake my head.- You may like watching rodeos but that's not what it's like. When I started rodeo I was broke. Me and three other guys lived out of an old Chevy pick up truck. We barely had enough to fill up the tank to get from rodeo to rodeo but we did and I have lots to show for it. I don't think that's what you want.
Thomas:-I clench my fists on top of the dresser, turning my head so my eyes meet yours.- It's 3 weeks long. If I do good at this rodeo they want me on the circuit. Which means more time away from home. Away from you and the kids.
Bent:That's how you start. Sheep, then miniature horses, your bulls. You wanna be a cowgirl right?
Thomas:Fine. -I pull on boxers and jeans, pulling up a pair of worn jeans and slinging a cracked old leather belt on them. I go over to my dresser and open the top drawer. I stop and look over all the buckles before deciding which one I want.-
