Hey, Maryline -- I just wanted to know how to customize my LJ page because:
1- it looks like rubbis ;(
2 -- well - I wanted to possibly display my work.
And besides, I really like your page ^^
*falls to knees and grabs at Maryline's foot* PLEASE HELP ME !! :( *wail* (<-- haha!)
I know exactly what you mean! ;O
I've just posted two wallpapers (Megan Fox, and Adam Brody) and I didn't get any response , but when I used to post stuff Twilight-related, comments and favs would be flowing so easily, it deffinitely hits a nerve. LOL.
I've been worried because I used a new technique for the text and I thought maybe people just didn't like it.
Ooo, you have DeviantArt! What's your account? I'll add you on my DeviantWatch - and I'll comment, promise =p haha.
Oh, that's awesome XD.
I'm on DeviantArt, and I think it's also an amazing place where you meet very talented people in all kinds of art (drawing, digital art, fanart, etc) It's pretty amazing. And there, you're not afraid that peole would steal your art because we're all artists amongst each other and people respect the rules there (well, at least my friends do, lol =p) but, also there you can make money out of your art because there's this option where people can buy your art. :)
I'm blabbing. -_- Sorry. hehe :)
Bu it's a cool place though ;)
Thank you so much, Maryline! Deffinetely interested! Will check it out.
And no, I don't have a livejournal account, and i don't think Rhi has one either. But I'll tell her about :D .
Thank you! :D
You did make sense :D
and Yeah, Gimp does have layer modes - I dont know where I would be without them :D
Humm, sounds like I am going it have to go on a stock image hunt :D
OH! The Tutorial sounds an awesome idea too - So many people will benefit from it -- which in-turn save a lot of 'texture-theft' :)
OoO - I will check them out :)
Im used to people not knowing about gimp, and having to convert things - but i find gimp much easier (i actually own PS myself) so i may have to convert myself to PS :)
Im new at making textures, and i really only get some good ones. Any tips for textures? :)
Thankyou :)
I have only been messing around properly with gimp for about 7months, and all your work and others provide my healthy dose of inspiration :)
Do you have any tips on improvement??
Actually, I've come across your site when I was checking for updates on Leloo's site http://shattered.escaping-madness.net/ and saw that you were an affiliate, so I clicked and checked out your site.
To be honest, Rhia and I wouldn't have become what we were now if it weren't for you guys. We're trying to figure out how to make a site of our own, because I'm taking computer programming at my school but we still haven't learned how to make an html page. Which sucks.
Anywho, back to the point. I know exactly what you mean about people not knowing really that they're "stealing" because no one really reads the rules anymore. Which is most deffinitely frustrating. I don't know if the admins have changed or not because I only joined June 2009. So I don't know really. :)
That seems too boring to go on each person's profile/discussion/gallery and take the link, write which texture/wallpaper/etc they've taken for their own claim. It takes lots of time, so Rhi and I have decided to post, on this site, only the things that we find mediocre, and therefore, our real stuff don't really get stolen XD.
*shrug*
I hope that this stops, but really doubt it. The web is a cynical place, you never know what could happen. Too bad it's an addiction.
But I hope your friends and yourself could find a way to fix things, (it's like planning a revolution.*grin* I like that XD) There's a graphics group here, where I'm admin - I will spread the message there, hoping that this will stop, as well.
Hello,
I've come across your site once, and saw that you had joined this site. I wanted to let you know that Rhia (person who has commented before me, and co-designer) and I know exactly what you mean, we've been experiencing the same things with our textures being claimed as their own/or altered to be claimed as their own.
But to be honest, I am not surprised that the admins of the site have done nothing about this issue, as unnerving and annoying as it is, because that is not, unfortunately, their main concern.
They're more uptight about member behaviour, replies, posts, etc.
But know that you and your friends are not the only fanartists suffering from this... loss.. because Rhia and I have been ranting to each other each day non-stop. And yet, we could never raise our voices.
Thank you, for taking the initiative. : )
Hi,
I was wondering, could I perhaps use the 'stopreposting' image on my page, and on a Graphics group on this site - we sometimes get people reposting other peoples work and claiming it as their own. It would be nice to maybe display the sign, warning people that the reposting of other's work will not be tolerated.
